3 Dimensional Isochemical and Thermochemical Plumes

These are calculations from McNamara and Zhong (EPSL, 2004) in which the effect of thermochemical convection on plume fixity were studied. Shown here are calculations of mantle plumes in both isochemical and thermochemical convective systems. The yellow stuff is a more-dense mantle component.
